MODERN SLAVERY STATEMENT

Introduction

This statement is made on behalf of CSM Motor Group Limited pursuant to Section 54 (1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015. This statement relates to actions and activities during the financial year ending 31st December 2018.

Organisational structure and supply chains

CSM Motor Group Limited is the parent company of:

  • CSM (Basingstoke) Ltd t/a J Davy Basingstoke
  • CSM (Basingstoke) Ltd t/a Archie Moss
  • Blackdown Motor Company Ltd t/a Rowcliffes

These companies operate in England as franchised motor dealerships whose core activities are the sale, servicing and repair of motor vehicles along with their associated parts.

Our main suppliers are the global vehicle manufacturers who supply the vehicles and parts. It is ultimately our suppliers’ duty to ensure compliance with legislation, human rights and ethical codes of conduct and they themselves are required to publish statements setting out the steps they have taken in this regard and we have reviewed those statements, where available. We also identify cleaning services, valeting services, marketing agencies and finance providers as smaller suppliers.

Policy and Training

The Company has a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and is committed to preventing slavery and human trafficking in its corporate activities, and to ensuring that its supply chains are free from slavery and human trafficking.

We follow a robust recruitment process in line with UK employment laws. This includes checking documents to ensure that all employees have the right to work in the UK, issuing contracts of employment and employment policies, and ensuring that all business activity complies with national minimum wage and living wage legislation.

To ensure a high level of understanding of the risk of modern slavery and human trafficking to our supply chain and our business, we will be providing appropriate training to relevant colleagues to raise awareness on recognising the possible signs of slavery or human trafficking and highlight any areas of concern they may have.

Board approval

This statement has been approved by the Company's board of directors, who will review and update it annually.
